Dental Bridges / Dentures

A dental bridge is a fixed (non-removable) restoration used to fill the gap created by one or more missing teeth. It 'bridges' the space by taking support from the healthy teeth or implants on either side of the gap, effectively restoring both chewing function and a natural appearance.

Advantages

  • Rapid Restoration: Quickly fills the gaps caused by missing teeth, restoring your smile in a short period.

  • Functional Improvement: Enhances both chewing efficiency and speech clarity, allowing you to eat and speak with confidence.

  • Structural Protection: Prevents neighboring teeth from shifting into the gap and protects the overall alignment of your jaw structure.

  • A Reliable Fixed Solution: Provides a permanent, non-removable alternative for patients who prefer not to have implants or for those whose bone structure is not suitable for implant surgery.

What are the Bridge Types?

  • Traditional Bridges: The most common type of bridge. It is supported by placing dental crowns on the natural teeth on both sides of the gap.

  • Cantilever Bridges: A bridge design where support is provided by a tooth on only one side of the gap. This is typically preferred for front teeth where chewing forces are lower.

  • Maryland Bridges (Resin-Bonded Bridges): A minimally invasive system where the bridge is attached to the back of the supporting teeth using metal or porcelain "wings." This method requires very little preparation or abrasion of the natural teeth.

  • Implant-Supported Bridges: A system used when there are no natural supporting teeth available. Instead of crowns, the bridge is securely anchored by dental implants placed into the jawbone.
